Common Core Reading Lessons: Point of View


Point of ViewThe perspective from which a story is told to the reader (i.e. first person).

Point of View Lessons – Covers kindergarten through sixth grade. Examples: Identify and describe the differences between first person and third person points of view. Identify and describe first person, third person objective, third person limited, and third person omniscient points of view. Learn how to change from one point of view to another in writing.

Key Ideas and Details
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.4.1 Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.4.2 Determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text; summarize the text.
