The first part is simple. I send my sun rays full of energy waves, called Radiant Energy, to the Earth. My radiant energy is collected and stored by plants all over the planet.

 

The plants then do something truly amazing...and this is coming from the Sun...they change my energy! Plants Transfer my energy into a different kind of energy called Chemical Energy.

 

I know this is true, because plants cannot create energy. In fact the first Law of Thermodynamics which is Conservation of Energy, states that energy can be changed from one form to another but cannot be created or destroyed.

 

So what is chemical energy?
