Most of the food plants make is called Glucose which is sugar. Plants use the sugar to grow with Respiration. All living things use respiration. It is when you convert the chemical energy of Glucose and oxygen into a usable form, but this also creates water and carbon dioxide.

 

So just imagine plants eating up all the sugar they make and the plants grow bigger and bigger until somebody, maybe an animal, maybe a human, maybe you, decides to eat it. Yummy, fruits and vegetables!

If you don't like fruits and vegetables, you better. They are filled with the Sun's energy.

 

If you don't believe me, the Sun mind you, the next time you see a fireplace or a campfire check to see if the wood (which was a tree) is giving off energy. I bet it does!
